Risky Question 6

In November, Nevadans will vote on a ballot question that would enshrine unlimited abortion through all nine months with no health, safety, or humanitarian standards into the state constitution. Question 6 will eliminate commonsense protections like limiting abortion to the first six months of pregnancy, requiring licensed doctors and regulated clinics, informed consent, and parental involvement in their underage daughter’s abortion.

Question 6 will allow abortion through all nine months performed by non-doctors in unregulated facilities and will permanently remove parental involvement before an abortion is performed on a child.

Question 6 is risky to women, dangerous for children, deadly for the nearly born.

Planned Parenthood’s challenge to the Protect Our Girls Initiatives (S-03 and S-04) were heard on Monday, June 13 in the 2nd District Court in Carson City. In true fashion, Planned Parenthood’s attorney called us extremist, misleading, vague, too wordy, not wordy enough and a laundry list of other things. Our attorney calmly and logically presented our case and the judge ruled overwhelmingly in our favor.

WE BEAT PLANNED PARENTHOOD!

PROTECT OUR KIDS initiative (S-04) won completely with no changes. All signatures gathered so far are valid and we are clear to gather more. PROTECT OUR GIRLS initiative requires a change of just one word, but it is enough that we must re-do those signatures gathered so far. We do, however, believe the one word addition actually strengthens the petition.

Out of an abundance of caution we will try to re-gather all singatures from all petitions so far.
We are the only conservative initiative that has survived the challenge process this cycle.

We have engaged a professional canvassing business. This will be in addition to the efforts we hope to make in churches throughout Nevada. Volunteers who gather signatures will be able to verify, notarize, and deposit petitions with this business.

If you would like to organize a signature event at your church, organization, or carry a petition in your neighborhood, please reach out to us at [email protected]. If you would like to donate to our statewide effort click here (link directly to anedot POG account). We need and appreciate your prayers, help, and support.

PLANNED PARENTHOOD SUED

On the deadline, Planned Parenthood filed a lawsuit against the Protect Our Girls Initiative and the Protect Our Kids Initiative trying to stop us from gathering signatures, informing the public about the dangers to our children, and influencing policy.

Protect Our Girls Initiative is a one parent notification with judicial bypass for underage girls (under 18) seeking an abortion. Protect Our Kids Initiative modifies current parents’ rights statutory law to include parental right to medical records and parental consent for healthcare (mental and physical) decisions for all children under 18.

Attorney Jason Guinasso is our legal counsel and will handle all legal challenges. Planned Parenthood’s attorneys called our initiatives, “…the most far-reaching and radical investment of parental authority in the history of Nevada law…” – could they be more out of touch?

On February 22, 2022 the Protect Our Girls PAC filed paperwork with the Secretary of State of Nevada. This is an effort to restore parental rights through two statutory initiatives –Protect Our Girls (S-03-2022) and Protect Our Kids (S-04-2022).

The statutory initiative process forces the legislature to vote up or down once 141K verified registered Nevada voters sign the official citizen initiatives. The deadline for both is mid-November. If the legislature enacts the measures as written, it becomes law. If they don’t, it immediately goes on the 2024 general ballot.
We are currently planning for a statewide push through Nevada’s churches and parents’ groups. We are looking for connectors and signature chairs in each county, club and as many of our Nevada churches as possible. Please email [email protected] to volunteer!

Additionally, we have engaged a professional canvassing business. This will be in addition to volunteer efforts. Volunteers who gather signatures will be able to verify, notarize, and deposit petitions with this business.

Together we can protect our girls, protect our kids, and restore parental rights. Let’s let parents parent, so kids can be kids!
